Days after activists secure proclamation on Genocide by Hawaii, Armenian Assembly of America swoops in to take credit

The Armenian Assembly of America is reporting that its nationwide network of grassroots activists had secured passage of a genocide resolution by the state of Hawaii.
“We thank the representatives of Hawaii for passing this resolution and making Hawaii the 43rd state to formally recognize the Armenian Genocide,” said Assembly Executive Director Bryan Ardouny, miscounting the number of states to have formally recognized the Armenian Genocide. The current total is 42.
The Aloha State became the 42nd US state to recognize the Armenian Genocide on Monday, reported the Armenian National Committee of America. The Assembly echoed the news on Thursday. This could be viewed as a time warp in the grassroots space-time continuum.
Activists throughout the country were baffled Thursday morning, confused over why the Assembly has released a statement praising itself and its nationwide army of ”ARAMAC activists” for the “crucial” role they plaid in the resolution’s passage.
“We are seeing a repeated pattern here,” said a concerned activist. “The assembly tends to appear after a significant government or grassroots occurrence, attempting to show that it somehow played a role in bringing about the events in question when it was, in fact, nowhere to be found.”
The resolution, which formally puts Hawaii on record as having recognized the genocide, also resolves that “certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Governor, who in turn is requested to transmit copies to the Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America and Armenian National Committee of Hawaii,” the two organizations working with Hawaii activists for over 2 years to secure a resolution.
Unfortunately, the text of the resolution was not included in the Assembly release, nor was there a link to the Hawaii State Legislature’s official PDF of the proclamation. Read the PDF

It is unclear as to why no link was provided. But one activist believes the omission was intentional. “They didn’t put it up because one needs to simply look at the resolution language at the very end for clarity on who did the work,” said the activist, adding that he had never heard of ARAMAC until the Assembly press release.
The assembly, a well-funded organization headquartered in Washington DC, does not employ a grassroots strategy and tends to rely on an approach grounded in high level ass-kissing to political power players that take advantage of the AAA’s obsequiousness – such as the US State Department which used the AAA like toilet paper during the TARC and Hoagland sagas. The Assembly is widely viewed by the Armenian American community as having succumbed to the sycophantic tendencies plaguing the Armenian world, where praise, glitz and glamour come before the Armenian Cause.
